I am a photographic artist that captures life and subjects in the moment. Photography is a very personal, vulnerable part of my expression in the world. It allows me to express the beauty, pain, and grace that I feel and connects me to other people. My art lets me share the feelings that I may not be able to express myself. The primary word I use to describe my art is "intimate". I want to bring the viewer into the photo as if they were actually present and feeling the same emotion expressed by the subject. I get lost in photography and sometimes when I look at a photograph it takes me by such surprise that I stop to enjoy the creation that is given to us everyday. When I photograph children and portraits, the more natural the better. The lighting and expression is so dynamic I swear that sometimes I can see into the soul of a person.
Photographs are important to each of us and it’s easy to forget our children's simple smiles, silly expressions or how we love to look into our spouses eyes. Life can bring out the best in us and I want to capture that life.
